A = A/B testing is BookerZzz way to test that the improvements we make are really the right ones. By comparing group A & B, we will get better insights into our target group, how visitors use our website and the consequences of our actions. A simple way to make sure we are on the right path! B = Birthday posters are our company’s way to remember our employees. On the date of your birthday, you can be sure to find signs with your face on it all around the office. The only question is: how do we know everyone’s date of birth? This will be kept as a secret 😉
C = Cake Friday is an important one. When having over 120 employees in one office, every week it is usually someone’s birthday. This would mean that every other day we’d have a cake overload at work. Because of that, we came up with the cake Friday concept – every last Friday of the month, there is a cake break in the canteen to celebrate all the birthdays of the month.
D = Da Vinci At the office we have four meeting rooms, all named after an adventurer. This is because if we would have to describe BookerZzz within one word it would be an explorer. For the creative brains to work with we want to have an inspiring environment!

E = Equality is a big part of BookerZzz; all the people are on the same line from an intern to our CEO. We are really informal workplace with no need to rub the hierarchy to anyone’s face. F = Friday Borrel is a weekly tradition starting at 16.30. A week is wrapped, the ‘DJ booth’ gets into use, and the drinks & snacks are on! Friday afternoons are a get-together for the whole office to spend some time with each other across departments. Challenge your boss at table soccer, play darts with the whole team or simply sip a glass of wine and have a chat with a colleague. What a great way to start your weekend!

With this promotion, we offer the best deals with the lowest prices in the Benelux countries and Scandinavia. It is our way to differ from others as a specialist, and of course – to our customers. HotelWeek is a unique chance for them and we want to be part of creating these experiences & memories.
I = Internationality/Interaction/Interns.. International team, we have people from all over the world and our language together is English. Interaction with colleagues and across departments is something that we value in our daily activities and work hours. Also, let’s not forget our multiple interns who deserve a little credit too!

K = KPI’s (key performance indicators) our way to measure our work towards the goals and success! How efficiently are we achieving our goals? To keep track, we use KPI’s to evaluate our targets and improve our performance constantly.
L = Living room During the years BookerZzz had a few offices before this gem where we are located today. When we moved to this one, we wanted to create this to be a home for the employees; the office is not just an office, but more like a living room. It is not strange to find people from the couch playing PlayStation together after work hours, playing games on a Friday afternoon and having a chat by the bar. The office presents our company character being a place where people feel comfortable, and they can interact with one another.
M = Mobile specialists It’s 2020 and smartphones have taken over, who would have known when the previous decade started? Staying up-to-date and continuous development being one of our our key values, we have invested a lot of time and effort to build a mobile-friendly website where smartphone users can navigate easily with their device. In 2018 our mobile site was rated as a top-3 player on the Dutch travel market! As the mobile masters we are, we are continually developing the mobile version of the website since it is indeed one of the biggest changes on the market!
N = Netherlands is where the whole company started but also our biggest country label. We do have office also in Stockholm, but our headquarters is located in Haarlem.
O = OKR’s (objectives & key results) We work at the company with OKR’s to make it easier; combining larger goals with measurable results. By defining objectives, key findings and initiatives quarterly, we have seen our output and efficiency increasing! There are multiple advantages by setting OKR’s, e.g. easier to stick with your strategy and better internal cooperation. Read more about OKR’s here.
P = Perfect stay is our goal, mission and vision. Everything that we do is towards to provide a perfect hassle-free stay for our customers. We want to get what they expected and be part of making their holiday memories. To succeed in this, we have core values and goals that we follow in order for this to become true.
Q = Quarter meaning three months of work and a year split into four quarters. Every quarter we set up new projects & goals. We also reflect on our work done in every quarter by using OKR’s. This is how we keep ourselves on track and can adjust fast when it is needed. Check letter O for more about OKR’s!
R = Remco, our CEO and the beginner of the company. Without his passion for entrepreneurship, there would be no BookerZzz! You see him regularly at the coffee machine, bump into him on the hallways and his office’s door is always open. From the same office, you can find Thijs too, our COO. And let’s not forget our input from Sweden, Fredrik! He is the CEO of the Scandinavian label of BookerZzz.
S = Social committee is an important factor in our company! They are responsible for creating fun events, Friday drinks, Christmas parties and company trips. Without them, BookerZzz would be a lot more boring workplace. For the record, we also have another S-team in the office: Sustainability committee! Since we do care about the environment and want to develop our sustainable values here at the office – they are here to improve our progress regarding this. Both teams – excellent work!
Christmas Party 2019.
T = Townhall is a monthly update meeting for the whole company. This is how we make sure that all the employees are up-to-date and people across different departments have a chance to interact with each other. During the meeting current projects, activities, results and performance of the whole company is discussed. Also, the new colleagues are introduced and welcomed during Townhall. Even though we don’t work with each other daily, at least we know what everyone’s up to!
U = USPs also known as unique selling points. What we sell is unique – we create the perfect stay. We make sure that the unique selling points and all our hotels are presented in the best possible way on the website. We at BookerZzz know that the quality of pictures can increase the number of bookings massively. Read more about the impact of images to conversion rate here!
V = Value Specials besides a perfect stay, we have plenty of value specials! The customers can choose from plenty of options: from a wellness special, dinner special or simply an irresistible deal for their weekend. We aim to offer these to differentiate ourselves by always offering extra value for our customers.
W = Winners BookerZzz is a winner what comes to OTAs. In 15 years we have been able to create a successful company out of nothing! Every employee at BookerZzz is a winner – we do notify the small and big successes, and a little bird told me, that in the digital marketing team they even have an Oscar given weekly to the most appreciated employee. Also, BookerZzz won a Dutch Search Award by creating a “Hotel Score” – this is an automation method for bid marketing which allows us to base our bids on future or expected data. Long story short: we can use this data to calculate which hotels are the most promising to convert our customers into booking. Read more about the Hotel Score here.

X = X-mas party is our yearly beloved tradition. The Christmas party is the party of the year where we do not save champagne and the DJ brings the crowd to the dancefloor with the best hits. In the past the party has had different themes, e.g. Peaky Blinders which was a throwback to 1920, pretty cool huh? Recently, Christmas party took us back to the days of 2000 when the millennium started, and BookerZzz story was just in the beginning. There were definitely some good memories made, thank you to the social committee for arranging a great event once again!
Y = Young atmosphere At BookerZzz we love to boost young talents. We hire interns, and on average, our office’s age is lower than most of them. No suits or ties needed at work, it’s all casual, and we can have fun with each other. You know those stiff offices where nobody smiles or talks – does not sound like ours!
